Drain jobs in your suburbs, without paying for leads
Block Drains sends licensed Sydney drain plumbers fixed-price jobs in the suburbs they choose. The customer has already accepted the price and saved a card before the job reaches you. There's no bidding, no lead fee and no monthly fee on the standard plan, just a platform fee on jobs you complete, and your share is paid to your bank within two business days.
How it works for you
- You only pay on work you do
- A platform fee comes out of completed jobs. Nothing for jobs you don't take, quotes you don't win or customers who never answer the phone.
- The price is settled before you arrive
- The customer booked at a published fixed price and saved a card. No haggling at the door and no chasing an invoice.
- Repairs are quoted in the app
- If the camera finds damage, you quote it in the app, the customer approves online, and it's charged with the job.
- Pick your suburbs
- Choose the suburbs and regions you'll work in. Jobs in those suburbs show on your job board and you accept the ones you want from your phone.
- Paid within two business days
- Block Drains charges the customer's card when you mark the job complete and pays your share to your bank via Stripe.
- No lock-in on the standard plan
- No monthly fee and no contract term. A paid priority plan for first refusal in chosen regions is optional.
Paying for leads versus paying on completed jobs
| Typical lead platform | Block Drains | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost of getting the job | Lead fees or credits, charged whether you win the job or not | A platform fee on jobs you complete |
| Competition | Often up to three businesses chasing the same customer on price | No price bidding: the first plumber covering that suburb to accept gets the job |
| Price | You quote, the customer shops around | Fixed price agreed before you arrive |
| Contract | Subscriptions with 6–12 month terms are common | No monthly fee or term on the standard plan |
| Getting paid | You invoice and chase | Paid to your bank within 2 business days |

Questions
- How much does it cost to join?
- Nothing to join and no monthly fee on the standard plan. A platform fee is taken from each completed job. An optional priority plan gives you first refusal on jobs in the regions you choose.
- How do jobs reach me?
- Jobs in your chosen suburbs appear on your job board with the job type, suburb, arrival window and price. The first plumber covering that suburb to accept it gets it, and it's then yours alone.
- Who sets the price?
- Block Drains publishes one fixed price per job. Repairs and relining found by the camera are quoted by you in the app, and the customer approves online before any extra work starts.
- When do I get paid?
- When you mark the job complete, the customer's card is charged and your share is paid to your bank via Stripe, usually within two business days.
- What do you check before switching a plumber on?
- Your NSW plumbing and drainage licence with NSW Fair Trading, your public liability insurance and your ABN. We call every applicant before approval.
